![]() Glancing at the number of connected peers when I removed the torrents, it was Tixati 6 vs uTorrent 7 vs BiglyBT 15. Poking around in Tixati I saw a "upload maximization" setting that force unchokes all peers so I thought I'd START OVER again while away until the next day. Neat how well Tixati performed given it's resource usage. Glancing at the number of connected peers when I stopped the seeds, it was Bigly 51 vs QBT 5 vs Tixati 8. It seems that may no longer be the case, so I gave it a shot against QBT & BiglyBT overnight. The author indicated it was limited by being single threaded. If the resource usage is huge when loading up a large volume of torrents, apparently it's tweakable anyways per here: * In my particular setup I don't mind using more resources for greater performance. It was tested without the ltconfig plugin which I hope will make a difference? That plugin is at least necessary to disable TCP whereas disabling TCP was exposed in the other clients without need of a plugin. I'm perplexed Deluge had such a poor showing given I'd configured it the same as the others (see config at the bottom). Glancing at the number of connected peers when I removed the torrents, it was BiglyBT 24 vs QBT 6 vs Deluge 3. Tests setup details and extra technical jargon is at the bottom of this post. I don't have a PC to dedicate for Linux at the moment, and am a Linux noob anyways, so I just tested Windows clients. My understanding is rTorrent (Linux only) is best. Kali Linux rolled a new ISO Tuesday, so that seemed like a good day to start testing the clients. I thought I'd attempt to optimally configure a few and see how they fare. Real world tests are a hairier beast with dozens of additional complex variables of which some are user adjustable and many not. Yet, given the transmission limits of TCP and different uTP throttling algorithms client's use, real world tests have great usefulness as well. The author did loopback tests which are wonderful for limiting variables. I came across a 2015 clients seeding comparison here: showing how variable it can be between clients even if optimally configured. I recently got fiber to my home that sustains 930mbps upload across the WAN and have been curious about the seeding potential of various clients/configs.
